The Fibre Box Association (FBA) is saddened by the passing of Jeffrey (Jeff) A. Schwarz of Schwarz Partners. Jeff passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023, following a year-long battle with cancer.
The leadership of FBA has shared their thoughts on Jeff’s passing, offering both their condolences and their admiration for Jeff’s leadership and contributions that spanned the corrugated packaging industry.
“The industry lost a giant in the passing of Jeff Schwarz,” said Bryan Hollenbach, FBA Chairman and Executive Vice President at Green Bay Packaging. “Jeff was one of the best and brightest in the industry and above all he was a great family man and friend to so many, including me. We will all miss Jeff, but we will remember his passion, energy, sense of humor, thoughtfulness and overall leadership that has had such a positive influence on the industry and everyone who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Schwarz family.”
Bob McIlvaine, FBA President/CEO and past CEO of The Royal Group said, “I had the privilege of working with Jeff and his family for 15 years and experienced firsthand the incredible impact he had on our company and the industry. Bright, engaging, strategic and personable, Jeff had a combination of qualities that made him one of the most admired and respected leaders in our business. On behalf of the staff and members of the FBA, we extend our deepest condolences to the Schwarz family.”
“The industry and life lost one of its great young leaders with the passing of Jeff Schwarz, said Doug Bosnik, FBA Immediate Past Chairman and CEO of Buckeye Corrugated. “Having worked with Jeff on many projects, I can honestly say that it seemed more like fun and less like work when Jeff was involved. His intellect, sense of humor and ability to connect with different individuals inspired confidence and trust with everyone. More than a business partner, he was also a friend who always took your call to listen to an idea or just to talk through an issue. Great leaders are rare. Their loss is felt by many whom they knew and by those who did not have the privilege of knowing them but benefitted by their presence just the same. Jeff was one of those men. I will miss him.”
Jeff is survived by his wife, Jill, his children Madison and Andrew, parents Jack and Gaye Schwarz, brother John and many other family members.
The family has planned a Celebration of Life to honor Jeff on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Daniel’s Vineyard, 9061 N. 700 W, McCordsville, IN, 46055. Casual attire is encouraged. To honor Jeff’s charitable giving, his family is asking for donations to the Schwarz Family and Friends Simon Cancer Research fund.
